FAQ

What does research do in My Anime Mine?
Research is the per-zone progression system: nodes multiply your income and unlock the next mining zone. The game's official description lists income multiplication and next-zone unlocks as the tree's core functions.
What should I research first in My Anime Mine?
Income multipliers. Every multiplier raises all ore sales and base earnings, which funds every other node and upgrade faster. Zone unlocks come second, convenience nodes last.
Does each zone have its own research tree?
Yes — the per-zone structure is part of the game's design. Unlocking and entering a new zone starts a fresh tree with new multipliers and the unlock for the zone after it.
Where does research currency come from?
Research is funded by playing the zone — mining, selling and progressing feed it. Exact costs and currency are visible in the in-game research menu; the strategy (multipliers first) holds at every tier.

What is the research tree in My Anime Mine?

Research is the game’s strategic layer: each zone carries its own tree of nodes, paid for with resources earned by playing, and the official game description defines its two headline functions — multiplying your income and unlocking the next mining zone. Everything else in My Anime Mine (crew, pickaxes, enchanting) raises your power; research raises what that power is worth. A run that respects the tree compounds; a run that ignores it grinds.

This guide covers node strategy, spending order, and how research chains across zones.

The two node types that matter

Among whatever each tree offers, two node families do the heavy lifting:

  1. Income multipliers — raise what you earn across the board. These are the compounding nodes: each multiplier makes the next node, upgrade and pickaxe cheaper in real terms, because everything is funded by income.
  2. Zone unlocks — open the next, deeper mining area. Unlocks are progression gates, not power; they only pay off when your damage can handle the new zone’s rocks (see how to dig deeper).

Whatever else a tree offers — conveniences, boosts, quality-of-life — belongs behind these two. Nodes with a multiplier or an unlock on the label outrank everything else.

The spending order that wins

The order is stable across the whole game:

  1. Income multipliers first. They pay for every subsequent decision. A multiplier early is a full upgrade budget later.
  2. Zone unlock when you can back it up. Unlock the next zone when your damage (crew levels + pickaxe + enchanting) is close to handling its rocks — an unlock you cannot use is parked cash.
  3. Convenience and extras last. Buy them when multipliers and unlocks in the tree are done and income is idle.

One exception worth its cost: if a tree’s unlock gates an entirely new research tree with strong early multipliers, the unlock itself becomes the investment — that is the snowball case, and it is the only time to jump the queue.

How research compounds across zones

The per-zone structure is what makes research the game’s engine. The pattern by design:

  • Each tree’s multipliers apply to your income as a whole, funding the current tree’s remaining nodes.
  • The unlock hands you the next zone — harder rocks, rarer ores, better reveals — and the next tree.
  • The new tree’s multipliers stack onto everything before them.

Practically: a mid-game player who has swept two trees’ multipliers earns multiples of a player who rushed two unlocks without them, and the gap widens every session. When in doubt, the multiplier was the answer.

Research and the rest of your economy

Research does not replace the other systems — it prices them:

  • Crew levels and pickaxes convert cash into damage; multipliers decide how fast cash arrives.
  • Base income (characters placed at your base — see the crew guide) also scales with multipliers, so research even boosts passive earning.
  • Boosters like the Ore Elixir from active codes multiply on top of your researched multipliers — stack them during long mining sessions.

A practical research routine

  1. Enter a new zone, open its tree, find the multipliers.
  2. Research them as income allows — mine, sell, research, repeat.
  3. Meanwhile keep damage current with the zone’s rocks (levels between pickaxe jumps).
  4. When the unlock node is affordable and damage is close, finish it and step down.
  5. Before leaving a tree for good, sweep any multipliers you skipped — old trees keep paying.

Research is the quiet system that decides whether My Anime Mine feels slow or snowbally. Multipliers first, unlocks when ready, and the game’s own loop does the rest.
